ABOUT THORNBUSH
1873
The Old West and the spirit and determination of those that endured it hold a special place in my heart. Living in Nevada, I enjoy every opportunity to explore the desert looking for traces of those that carved out a living in such a desolate place so long ago with unimaginable hardships that we, in a modern world, can't even imagine how difficult their short lives were. I respect what they did to survive and am humbled to have them as distant relatives. So much so, I decided to build my ‘happy place’ on the back of my property. This project is my latest endeavor - and I love it. I have always had a curious attraction to the old west historical sites, ghost towns and mining camps, so I gave in to the ever pressing desire and proceeded to design and build my own Old West Ghost Town on our back property. Welcome to Thornbush. A place where I could visit any time I wanted to and spend as much time in my little piece of heaven as I wished, constantly tinkering and improving this happy place. Hard to justify the 'why' even to myself but something was driving me to do it. All things considered, as a retired 69 YO, my creative 'itch' has been scratched and I’m proud of what I’ve done and am doing. Whenever I step into ThornBush I am at peace, and that my friend is priceless. I would love to share what I've created with you and hear your comments.
My conviction was to do this in a way that mirrored authenticity with a Hollywood spice for sure. It needed to look, feel and sound real. And when you're there, you would visually be isolated from todays reality allowing you the time and space to take yourself to another existence, one that was, but no longer is, except in the hearts of folks like me.
Time is a spiteful bitch
Welcome to Thornbush
